Dreams of Reason Produces Monsters

The title of the play is based on a Goya’s radical sentence. Sebastián Jaña, director of the play, explains that we believe that the rational conceptions that we share as society are the ones that produce the fear and evil that torment us. If we can understand that, we can produce changes in our own subjectivities.

But Goya is not the only referent. This play takes many references from literature and visual arts: The Grimm’s brothers, Elfried Jelinek, Leonardo Da Vinci, Peter Shaffer, among others. All of them are staged in a blank space —without scenography— by the performers’ body, the sound, the lights, the costumes and videos.
